Why do people wear accessories

Hello. I'm Okamoto, the staff of our Osaka shop.

You'll find me at pop-ups or helping out at our Kyoto store. Next is an event at Hanshin.

I have been working in apparel for a long time, and since I became more interested in 

clothes and broadened my interest in fashion and started to wear accessories, I was 

attracted to silver-based jewelry such as earrings and rings, and now I am a craftsman. 

I am doing "bang bang bang"  with a hammer every day.

Why do you want to wear accessories?

After choosing clothes that look good, you want to add accessories that look good.

 Once you get your favorite accessory, you want to use it as a base to decide on 

clothes.There are various ways to choose, such as wearing accessories for a special 

occasion and this can be fun.

What is an accessory?

In the early days, it was not a “thing” but a decorative culture in which a “pattern” was put on the body with sap or mud to pray for a good harvest. When the culture of hunting spread, wearing items such as fish bones, teeth, shells etc. of what you caught. It was used to appeal how many strong animals you caught. And it was also as a sign of symbiosis with nature and gratitude for nature's blessings. 

It seems that depending on the race, wearing similar materials and designs also played a role in expressing ethnic identity.

Gold and precious stones gradually found in the river were discovered as they changed from nomadic life to land-based civilization and made efforts for agriculture and livestock farming on the banks of large rivers. It has been reborn as a bracelet and various accessories.

Even after the civilization was born, accessories have meanings not only as decorations, but also as accessories that are worn only as a sign of social class in most of history and are allowed to be worn only by special people.

In the modern era, the number of accessories made of various materials other than precious metals has increased, so we are not focusing on essential "value", we value fashion and personality, and we have a wide range of free choices and various decorations. 

Since ancient times, people have been deeply involved with accessories, and they are indispensable as they are worn with prayer and feelings, and those who create a sense of security and the role of giving confidence to the wearer can be indispensable. You can see that it plays a deep and important role.
